In conjunction with the exhibition Egypt: Beyond the Tomb, Wellington Zoo staff will visit Te Papa with three of the zoo’s newest serval cats! Zoo experts will be talking to visitors about Egyptian animals and the sacred role cats played in ancient Egypt. This is an opportunity for visitors to see these fascinating felines up close while learning about the importance of these beautiful animals in ancient Egyptian culture.
These cats are the successful result of Wellington Zoo’s breeding programme and this is their first public appearance outside of the Zoo.
The talk will take place in the Wellington Foyer, Level 2 at Te Papa, 12noon -1pm. Media are welcome.
