Professor Ngatata Love is of Te Āti Awa descent. He is Mana Whenua Professor for Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi, Wellington campus, and Professor of Business at Victoria University.
Ngatata was the first Māori person to gain a PhD in Aotearoa New Zealand. He is Emeritus Professor and a member of Massey University Council.
Ngatata is also a former Chief Executive of Te Puni Kōkiri (Ministry of Māori Development) and chairs the Wellington Tenths Trust Board.
