How to book a school programme
All education groups must be pre-booked. This will ensure that the exhibitions you choose will be available and that our trained staff are on hand to help. It is preferred that all school bookings are made online.
Booking options
If you need to phone us to book, please provide the following information:
- the title of the programme you want to do, or where you want to go within Te Papa, if visiting self-guided.
- preferred dates (please have at least three alternatives)
- the time you want to visit
- the number of students attending
- the year group of the students
- the name of the supervising teacher and the best way and time to contact them if a return call is necessary
- the contact details for your school or organisation, including address, phone, fax, and email address
- any resources you require
- any special needs your students may have
- whether you would like the programme delivered in English or te reo Māori (most programmes can be offered in both)
- any additional options you require e.g. lunch packs
- All programmes are subject to availability. Please note that the earlier you book the greater the chance you have of securing your preferred date, time and timechoice of education programme. Generally, we are not able to accept bookings with less than two weeks' notice.
Payment options
Payment is preferred on the day by school cheque, cash, credit card or eftpos.
If you cannot pay on the day we will invoice you after your visit for the number of students who attended on the day.
Cancellations
If it is necessary to cancel your booking, please do so as early as possible. If you cancel on the day or fail to show, a $20 cancellation fee will apply. We reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee up to the amount of your invoice.
