Paerau Corneal made this piece when she was a student. From
a toki (adze) shape, she has made a more abstract work, using
clay together with muka (flax fibre) and bamboo.
For Paerau this work was a successful experiment
in combining the elements of a traditional form and the qualities
of muka (flax fibre), with the process of raku firing.
