To commemorate Samoa’s 50th year of independence and the friendship agreement signed between Samoa and New Zealand, Te Papa and National Services Te Paerangi will be running a Back of House Tour for those working and studying within the museum sector and iwi groups. This is a special opportunity to view Te Papa’s extensive Pacific collections.

This will cover:

  • Tour of the Pacific collection store.
  • Emphasis on Samoan objects.

Who will I meet?

  • Grace Hutton: Collection Manager Pacific.

Who is it for?

  • For people working, volunteering or studying within the museum and gallery sector, as well as iwi groups.

How do I sign up?

  • The tour is free to attend.  Please meet at Te Papa's Wellington Foyer (second floor, top of the escalator)
  • Numbers are limited to 14 people so get in quick!

What else do I need to know?

  • Please leave large bags at coat check on Te Papa’s ground floor.
  • You can bring a camera for general shots.
  • No food or drink may be taken into the storeroom.
