Southeast Asia: Art History, Art Today
Monday 12 August 2013
Free to attend
In New Zealand as guest speaker at the ST PAUL St Gallery 2013 Curatorial Symposium, Patrick D. Flores, Professor of Art Studies at the University of the Philippines, makes a flying trip to Wellington to present an illustrated talk on recent curatorial projects in Southeast Asia. Identifying a number of ‘entry points’ into Southeast Asian art history—and into the region’s diverse contemporary contexts—Flores’ research offers a reconsidered vision of the region’s cultural makeup. The talk will focus on different curatorial models in South East Asia.
Seating is limited: first in, first served.
Presented by City Gallery Wellington in partnership with Massey University. With the support of ST PAUL St Gallery and Auckland University of Technology, National Services Te Paerangi and Creative New Zealand.
