National Services Te Paerangi is committed to building the skills of everybody volunteering or working in museums* and improving opportunities for professional development. Our services and programmes cover most aspects of museum practice.

We provide training workshops for people volunteering and working in museums in New Zealand. We also hold marae-based workshops for iwi.

 

 

Museum Graduate Internship ProgrammeMuseum Graduate Internship Programme

A programme that offers internships to recent graduates of museum studies.

 

Museum Internship Secondment ProgrammeExpert Knowledge Exchange

A programme that offers a museum, gallery or iwi the opportunity to host an expert for intensive one-on-one advice or workshopping.

 

atttoNational Certificate in Museum Practice

The Certificate was developed by the sector in response to an identified need for an entry level museum qualification.

*The term museum includes: museums, art galleries, whare taonga, tribal museums, cultural centres, historic places, science centres, interpretive centres, and exhibition centres. They usually carry out a range of functions, which include but are not confined to the care of collections, public programmes including exhibitions, education, and community relationships.
