Notice from ATTTO

From 31 January 2012 ATTTO will be increasing registration fees for all training programmes by $35 (excl GST).

ATTTO is making changes to ensure they provide better support to workplaces to help keep trainees on track with their training. This includes more thorough trainee auditing and follow-up processes, and better trainee progress reporting for workplaces.  This price increase reflects the costs of this additional administrative support.

Improvements to ATTTO reporting and processes will mean trainees are better supported throughout training to help ensure better outcomes and completions.

ATTTO is also introducing an administration fee of $30 (excl GST) for all trainees that wish to transfer to a different training programme more than 24 hours after submitting their training agreement to ATTTO. This will also be effective from 31 January.

If you have any questions about these fees or ATTTO training, please contact thehub@attto.org.nz or call 04 499 6570.

New training manuals available for ATTTO's National Certificate in Museum Practice

A range of user-friendly training manuals is now available to support people working towards the ATTTO National Certificate in Museum Practice (Level 4).

If you or people from your team are working towards this qualification, the new manuals will help you gain the knowledge required for each unit standard. The manuals let trainees work through background reading, activities, and assessment tasks at their own pace.

Manuals for the following unit standards are available now for only $20 each plus GST:

  • 20542 – Museum collection management
  • 20554 – Museums and responsibilities of the museum sector in Aotearoa New Zealand
  • 20548 – Develop a proposal for a museum public programme

Full assessment tasks are included.

Further manuals will be released continuously over the next 6 to 8 months, covering unit standards 20545, 20546, 26803, 20547, and 20551.

New trainees who enrol in the revised National Certificate in Museum Practice (Level 4) will receive a full set of eight resources as part of their registration cost: $115 excluding assessment fees, or $165 including assessment by National Services Te Paerangi. (Costs exclude GST.) Note that a completion grant of $80 will be paid to employers when trainees complete training within the 18-month period.

30% off valuation services at Webb's

Need a few objects or your whole collection valued? Look no further. We have brokered a deal with Webb’s just for you. If you mention this deal when you enquire about valuation with Webb's, you’ll receive 30 percent off the overall cost.

If you need 15 or fewer items valued, you can send photos and descriptions to Webb's. This reduces the cost because no site visit is necessary. The valuation will be completed and supplied within 10 days. Discounted costs for valuations with no site visit are:

  • 1–5 items: $150 + GST
  • 6–15 items: $295 + GST

If Webb's staff think that an item requires a site visit or further inspection, they’ll discuss this with you and adapt the quote to suit.

For more than 15 items, Webb's recommend a site visit. Visiting does increase the cost, but with 30 percent off, you’ll still get a very good deal.
