Welcome to the Awesome Forces Online Resource!
This online resource is designed to support teachers in developing a unit of work about some of New Zealand’s natural hazards and how to prepare for them. It looks at earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and tsunami.
The students’ section is aimed at Years 4-10, and can be incorporated as a learning experience in the classroom or informally at home.
This resource has been developed with the support of the Earthquake Commission and GNS Science. It has four main parts:
