Museum in a Box is a collation of museum resources, and includes case studies, templates, and links to useful online resources. The information is sourced from the internet and the New Zealand museum sector, and is organised in the following subject areas:
- Governance, management and planning
- Care of collections and taonga
- Exhibitions and other public services
- Customer service
- Relationships with communities
Five sections have now been published - 'Links to resources', 'Case studies', 'Templates', 'Workshops', and 'Glossary' (see below). 'General information' will be published throughout 2009, so keep a lookout in our e-news for the latest on this new resource!

Key points and tips on each subject area, including an outline of useful resources that are available in 'Links to Resources'.
Museums will find this section especially useful because it lists online resources that are generally available for free.
A series of case studies giving examples of best practice from the New Zealand museum sector.
Templates that museums can adapt to suit their own situations. Examples include policies, loan agreements, and job descriptions.
