This free exhibition provides an excellent opportunity for your students to discover the Treaty of Waitangi. Examining the Treaty from an historical and contemporary perspective, the exhibition is full of exciting interactives and fascinating contexts for learning.
This website provides an overview of the exhibition and Pre/Post Activities so that you are able to make the most of your visit to the exhibition when it comes to your area.

The exact nature of the learning outcomes for this programme will vary depending on the year level of the students and the focus of the programme as requested by the teacher. The learning outcomes of the Treaty 2 U education programme include providing students with opportunities to:
- learn more about certain Waitangi claims that have been made – the processes and outcomes
- work collaboratively as a member of a group on various tasks
- gain an understanding of the different interpretations of the Treaty by Mäori and Päkeha
- view the Treaty as a living document – how the Treaty has impacted on later events and people in NZ history
- gain a basic appreciation of the relationship of the Treaty to biculturalism, land claims, the Waitangi Tribunal, and other current topics of 'race relations' and NZ current events.
