Te Papa welcomes individuals and groups with disabilities and special needs.
Most of our spaces are accessible to people with mobility impairments, including:
- all our exhibitions
- some special attractions
- most toilets.
If you have other needs or interests, feel free to call the Enquiry Centre on +64 (0)4 381 7000 before your visit.
Our offers for people with impairments
During your visit, ask our Hosts for help or information at any time. We have procedures to help visitors in wheelchairs, and those with other special needs, if there is an evacuation.
Parking
We offer five car parks for people with disabilities: two on the left as you enter the car park, and three on the left as you continue into the covered area. Access to the building is at ground level through the main entrance.

Guided tours
We can adapt our guided tours for people with disabilities, and we have a special tour for people with visual impairments. We can also adapt our education programmes.
