This amazing machine has been on display in the Wellington Foyer over the holiday season 2005/06. One of two working replicas made at the Britten Motorcycle factory, Christchurch, of Burt Munro’s record-breaking ‘Munro Special’, it currently stars in Roger Donaldson’s feature film, The World's Fastest Indian.
Burt Munro (1899-1978) worked on his bike for nearly six decades - his astonishing determination and ingenuity led to many national and international speed records.
