Kupe Sites

Kupe Sites presents 36 stunning black-and-white photographs that show physical landmarks associated with Kupe’s voyage to Aotearoa. It also tells some of the stories of these special places.

Originally shown as part of the Voyagers exhibition, this exhibition has been developed for tour to venues nationally.

The photographs are supported by a map locating the sites as well as an audio-visual of iwi representatives from the four Kupe Sites districts (northern New Zealand, Wairarapa, Wellington, and northern South Island) talking about the meanings, significance, and histories of the sites.

A teachers' resource has been developed in conjunction with this exhibition.
