This tribute concert honours the achievements of Dr Richard Nunns, whose work with taonga puoro (Māori musical instruments) has spearheaded their revival.

Richard Nunns is a New Zealand musician of national and international repute. He has made an enormous contribution to New Zealand music over more than 30 years of dedicated research and composition. He has been particularly influential in the revival of taonga puoro.

The concert brings together some of New Zealand’s most important musicians and artists, all colleagues and collaborators of Richard’s. It features musical and spoken tributes to him, and is also an opportunity to acknowledge his family for their support during his long career.

The concert is organised by Te Ahukaramū Charles Royal, Horomona Horo, and Jamie Bull. It coincides with New Zealand Music Month.

This event will be video recorded.
