Join Venice Biennale curators Dr Leonhard Emmerling and Heather Galbraith for a floortalk about the works in the New Zealand Pavilion. Emmerling curated Judy Millar’s Giraffe-Bottle-Gun, and Galbraith curated Francis Upritchard’s Save Yourself. They will discuss the development and realisation of these works.

Expert Panel: The Venice Biennale – What, How, and Why
The Marae, Level 4

The floortalk is followed by a panel discussion about the Venice Biennale. Experts will discuss what the Venice Biennale is and what it means to be there. They will also reflect on the 2009 projects.

The experts are:

·   Tanea Heke, Senior Adviser International Team, Creative New Zealand

·   Dr Leonhard Emmerling, Curator of Judy Millar’s Giraffe-Bottle-Gun

·   Heather Galbraith, Curator of Francis Upritchard’s Save Yourself

·   Charlotte Huddleston, Curator of Contemporary Art, Te Papa.
