Land waka (also known as land yachts) have been around since ancient Egyptian times. They’re still used today. In fact, racing around on a wind-driven vehicle has become a proper sport. Papamoa, Oreti, Waikanae, and New Brighton are popular places for riding the wind here in New Zealand!
