Mike Holmes, Director of San Francisco’s Velvet da Vinci Gallery, talks about the rich history of craft on America’s West Coast.

He discusses how craft developed in the American West and the ways that area differs to other parts of the United States. California, in particular, has a long history of new ways of thinking and living.

He also showcases craft resources in the US that New Zealand artists might find useful.

The Velvet da Vinci Gallery exhibits contemporary craft, especially art jewellery and metalwork.
