A day of colourful art activities the whole family will enjoy in the Ngā Toi | Arts Te Papa galleries.
On the first Sunday of each month, Te Papa is all about family activities. This April, we focus on art. Check out the range of activities below and head on up to the Whare Toi | Arts Studio on Level 5.
Numbers are limited – arrive early to avoid disappointment.
11am–3pm: Make your own art lover’s badge.
11am–11:30am: Learn about gallery etiquette in our engaging Little Art Lovers Trail, especially designed for younger children.
11.30am–12 noon & 12.30pm–1pm: Join us on a tour round our gallery spaces and take a new look at the art. Imagine you’re in a weird landscape … what shapes can you see?
12 noon–1.30pm: Use the shapes you found on the previous tour to help create a line sculpture.
1.30pm–3pm: Think you need scissors and glue to make amazing collages? Think again. Make your own art work to take home, complete with a beautiful frame.
