About the experts

Chris Amon and Eoin Young both went to the UK in the 1960s and made their mark on Formula One, and motor racing generally. Chris is rated as one of the world’s finest ever drivers and in addition to winning the 24 hours of Le Mans with Bruce McLaren in 1966, he raced in Formula 1 from 1963 to 1976 including three years as the number 1 driver at Ferrari.

Eoin Young was one of the founding Directors of the McLaren team in 1964 but is better known as a respected motorsport writer who attended 450 Grands Prixs before retiring to Christchurch some 5 years ago. He was there through the highs and lows of McLaren's great Formula One and CanAm years, right up to that fateful day in June 1970, when McLaren lost his life in a testing accident at the Goodwood circuit in the south of England.

Michael Clark has been commenting and writing about motor racing for nearly 25 years and has penned the 'Flashback' column in New Zealand Classic Car since 2002.  He assisted Eoin Young in writing the biographies on Denny Hulme and Chris Amon while in 2007 produced a book on the cars of George Begg.
