The experts
Bob McMurray
Bob McMurray has had a long relationship with motorsport and contracts as a commentator to various media companies in New Zealand, including ONE Sport. He spent over 30 years with McLaren International (Tag McLaren Marketing Services), where his understanding of F1, engineering, and mechanics lead him to become the voice of McLaren on the ‘in-house’ television link – translating the technicalities of F1 to the boards of directors, sponsors and non-Formula 1 devotees alike. Bob received the 2006 MotorSport New Zealand Personality of the Year Award and the 2007 Motor Trades Association Award for Contribution to Industry.
Walter Willmott
Walter Willmott was one of the original mechanics who worked with the McLaren Racing team in the 1960s. After his first season in Europe with High Efficiency Motors, he worked for Bruce McLaren for the 1962–1963 Tasman series. He was asked by John Cooper to join the F1 team and stayed with McLaren Racing until 1968.
Michael Clark
Michael Clark has been commenting and writing about motor racing for nearly 25 years, and has penned the 'Flashback' column in New Zealand Classic Car magazine since 2002. He assisted Eoin Young in writing the biographies of Denny Hulme and Chris Amon, and produced a book on the cars of George Begg in 2007. His interest in motor racing history, and Formula One in particular, lead to him being invited to contribute to the UK-based website 'Pitpass.com' in 2002. Michael has recently been asked to act as co-ordinating editor of a book that will commemorate Bruce McLaren's debut F1 victory.
