Hutt Valley Motorsport – Street Sprint Scrutineering

Saturday 24 October 2009
Te Papa Plaza, outside the Entrance
12 noon–4pm
Free entry

In preparation for the Racetech Port Road Street Sprint and Clubsport Triathlon, Hutt Valley Motorsport Club members will bring their cars to Te Papa for a pre-event safety inspection and documentation session. Come and find out more about the competition that will be held on the weekend.

There are three parts to the competition:

1. A street sprint on a 2km time trial circuit that caters for a wide range of vehicles from early Hillman Imps to the latest Mitsibushi Evos.

2. A motorkhana on a grass paddock near Silverstream, Upper Hutt. A motorkhana is a cheap and enjoyable form of motorsport where you can use any vehicle. It is primarily a test of driver skill.

3. Autocross, when competitors compete individually at speed against the clock

on a circuit laid out (using hay bales or plastic cones) on a large grass, tarseal, or gravel area.

Each of the events is its own competition, but the overall weekend forms a ClubSport Triathlon with a winner being decided from the results of all three parts combined.  It’s a busy weekend but very enjoyable for everyone involved!
