Curator Stephanie Gibson discusses the glamorous costume sketches on display in Mollie Rodie: Carnival queen, one of Te Papa’s new art exhibitions.

Mollie Rodie was a designer and journalist. During World War II, her magnificent costumes for the Victory Queen Carnival helped raise funds for Kiwis fighting overseas, and rallied spirits on the home front.
