Dancer and choreographer Saes Byeol Cha and musicians Rob Thorne and Lorenzo Bühne interweave sounds and movements from South Korea, Italy, and Aotearoa New Zealand.
Saes Byeol Cha is current artist-in-residence at New Pacific Studio, where she is exploring collaboration between dance and other genres. Rob and Lorenzo are both former artists-in-residence.
‘This performance is based on my experiences and thoughts. I want to you to think about your own travel in life and where you all come from.’
New Pacific Studio was founded in 2001 and is based in a historic villa close to Pukaha Mount Bruce National Wildlife Centre in the Wairarapa. Residencies are open to artists in any discipline.

Saes Byeol Cha is a Korean dancer and choreographer trained in Korean customary and contemporary dance.
Rob Thorne
Rob Thorne (Ngāti Tumutumu) is a Palmerston North musician. He has been researching and performing taonga puoro (traditional Māori musical instruments) since 2001.

Lorenzo Bühne
Lorenzo Bühne made a name for himself playing with legendary punk bands FEAR and The Dickies in the United States and Europe. After moving to New Zealand in 2003, he released two adventurous Italian albums, Sotto Sopra (2005) and Buon Giorno (2008).
