NZ Music Month Youth Workshop

Aspiring musician? Come along for this free session with music industry representatives and special guest Warren Maxwell and learn how to get your career off the ground.

The session features representatives from The Band School, the Australasian Performing Right Association Limited (APRA), Play It Strange, and the Music and Audio Institute of New Zealand (MAINZ).

The Band School

Aimed at nurturing up-and-coming musicians, The Band School prepares students to hit the New Zealand music scene when they leave college. Dealing with everything from releasing music and making videos to running events and shows, The Band School aims to be the missing link between music departments and the music industry.

Australasian Performing Right Association Limited (APRA)

APRA was established in 1926 and now administers the performing and communication rights of over 70,000 members in New Zealand and Australia.

Play It Strange

Play It Strange was established in 2003 for to encourage young New Zealanders to develop interests and skills in songwriting and musical performance.

Music and Audio Institue of New Zealand (MAINZ)

MAINZ offers programmes in sound and music, audio engineering, DJ and electronic music production, contemporary music performance, live sound and event production, music and event management, and creative enterprise.
