Performance psychologist Dr Gary Hermanson discusses his work with up-and-coming race drivers, elite athletes, New Zealand Olympic teams, and New Zealand Cricket’s Black Caps.

Dr Gary Hermanson is one of New Zealand's most experienced performance psychologists. He has worked extensively with athletes and coaches in a wide variety of sports, including a number of New Zealand's most promising motor racing drivers. He has been team psychologist for the New Zealand Olympic and Commonwealth Games teams since 1998 (attending the last three Olympic and Commonwealth Games), and within this role has worked with many of the country's top athletes. He was also team psychologist for the New Zealand Black Caps cricket team for three years, touring with them on 14 occasions both nationally and internationally, and held a similar role with the New Zealand equestrian team at the World Equestrian Games in Germany in 2006.
