The Underwater World of Sharks
Thursday 12 Sep 2013,
5.30pm–9.00pm (talk starts at 6.00pm)
Soundings Theatre, Level 2
Find out everything you ever wanted to know about sharks! Hear the experts and see preserved specimens in this special presentation to mark Shark Week.
Fisheries scientist Dr Malcolm Francis, Andrew Stewart from Te Papa, and other special guests talk about shark biology, taxonomy, research, mythology, and conservation – and answer questions. There’s a chance to see fresh and preserved shark specimens in a temporary exhibition outside the theatre, and an opportunity to help sharks in New Zealand. Spaces are limited, so arrive early to avoid disappointment.
Shark Week, September 9–15, is organised by the New Zealand Shark Alliance (NZSA).
