From July each year, the International Institute of Modern Letters, home of Victoria University’s prestigious creative writing programme, runs a series of events highlighting the very latest work of writers active in Wellington and further afield.
All in all, it’s a lively and stimulating way to begin the week – and it’s free!
Blood and Money
American writer Grace Paley once observed that stories could be about anything, but they needed to 'retain the facts of blood and money'.
This session features debut short fiction writers Lawrence Patchett and Kirsten McDougall, as well as Gigi Fenster, whose first novel has attracted critical acclaim.
Hear what these three new writers think about blood, money, and books. Damien Wilkins chairs.
