Emma Martin and Amy Head discuss their eagerly awaited debut short-story collections with chair Emily Perkins.

‘A short story is a love affair, a novel is a marriage,’ writes author Lorrie Moore. ‘A short story is a photograph; a novel is a film.’ Emma Martin and Amy Head talk about these important distinctions and read from their collections, Two Girls in a Boat and Tough. They give their thoughts about the craft of contemporary story writing, and the perils and delights of a first publication.

Chair: Emily Perkins
