Amy Brown, Therese Lloyd, and Ashleigh Young represent the imaginative range and unique voice of a new generation in New Zealand poetry. They discuss their work with Harry Ricketts.

Last year saw the release of Therese Lloyd’s Other Animals and Ashleigh Young’s Magnificent Moon, two debut collections. Amy Brown’s second poetry collection, The Odour of Sanctity, reinvents a neglected form – the epic. The writers reflect on three ways into New Zealand poetry, and how their own poems came into being.

Chair: Harry Ricketts
