Art After Dark Toi o te Po: Theo Schoon - Opening the Archive

Enjoy art, lectures, wine, and music at Te Papa’s monthly art evening.

6pm–6.45pm: Theo Schoon: Recollections of a Friendship. Hear art historian Michael Dunn reflect on Māori rock art and his friendship with Theo Schoon. The Marae, Level 4. Free entry.
 
7pm–7.20pm: Show and Tell Session on the Marae. Take a close-up look at objects gifted to Te Papa by Theo Schoon. The Marae, Level 4. Free entry.

7.30pm–8.15pm: Theo Schoon – Painter and Photographer. Jonathan Mane-Wheoki, Director Art and Collection Services, leads a personal tour of Schoon’s paintings and photographs. Meet by McCahon’s Northland Panels at the entrance to the exhibition Toi Te Papa on Level 5. Free entry.

7.30pm–8.30pm: Gamelan Padhang Moncar. Experience the sounds of the gamelan – bronze percussion instruments, including xylophones and gong chimes as well as drums and solo voices. Signs of a Nation, Level 4. Free entry.
