Every year, Te Papa extends its art collection, adding significant works by both emerging and established artists, as well as pieces that enhance the collection or reflect important trends.
Collecting Contemporary presents a selection of contemporary art acquired between 2006 and the present day. The exhibition features works in a range of media, including painting, furniture design, jewellery, photography, sculpture, video, and ceramics. Together, the works demonstrate the diversity and strength of New Zealand art and design.
