Tapa education programme

These are now fully booked

Bring your students to Te Papa and discover an amazing array of tapa works from throughout the Pacific. These artworks will be on display in Paperskin: the art of tapa cloth and Tapa: Pacific style.

Your students will encounter beautiful designs, some on massive works of tapa that are rarely on display for the public to enjoy. They'll have the opportunity to look at patterns from all over the Pacific and use these as inspiration to create their own art on pieces of plain tapa.

Suitable for: Year 0–10
Duration: 90 minutes
Price: $4.50 per student, all adults are free.

You are welcome to self-guide your students through Paperskin: the art of tapa cloth. Bookings, however, are essential to ensure that there is space for your group.

Schools that have booked an Education Programme with Te Papa Education | Te Ipu Kāhuirangi have priority use of exhibition spaces.
