Soon new explorations of the ocean
I took this photo in 2011 in the extreme north of Kerguelen islands, French Southern Territories.
I was making a survey for the Natural Reserve, to check the impact of the introduced vegetal species in this very remote place.
It was a beautiful surprise to discover these chicks of Black-browed Albatross. In the background, we can see the Kerguelen arch, symbol of the site where James Cook made his first stop on this island on the 25th of december 1776, and made his first description of Kerguelen Islands in "Christmas bay". After that he continued his exploration to New Zealand.
