An oldie but a goodie
Yes, I do remember the Egyptian Gallery. Not in great detail as I was so young. However I do remember being totally inspired by the sights of a far away country! That was my favourite part of the old museum.I am now a fanatic Egyptian fan!I do plan on seeing the Egyptian exhibit at the new museum, but I must say the old museum was by far a better experience.Just because its new doesnt mean its better!

Yes I agree with you totally. I too grew up with the Old museum in Buckle Street and I feel it was far more superior than Te Papa. Yes, Te Papa does have interactive material for Children and has the art gallery in one building. But in doing this has limited the room to hold all the material that the old musemum held. Also the old museum building was a masterpiece in itself. I also object to have to pay to see the material that we use to be able to view any time, all year round for free!!!
