Saturday 18–Sunday 19 July: It’s all about McLaren
Zoom in for opening weekend and celebrate New Zealand’s contribution to F1. Discover famous New Zealand F1 faces and races with experts Bob McMurray, Walter Willmott, and Michael Clark, and check out a McLaren Can-Am race car.
Saturday 15–Sunday 16 August: Working on design
Find out what’s happening in New Zealand open-wheel motorsport design, and learn about design developments in both racing and on-road cars.
Sunday 6 September: Formula One Father’s Day
Treat Dad to an exclusive exhibition viewing followed by brunch with Chris Amon, Michael Clark, and motorsport writer Eion Young. There’ll be A1GP’s Black Beauty car in the foyer, floortalks, and fun activities for the family.
Saturday 26 September–Sunday 11 October: School holidays – Race to Te Papa!
A hands-on, motor racing extravaganza. Pit garage demonstrations, real race cars, Kartsport, simulators, science activities, and more. Can you squeeze yourself into the Toyota Racing Series show car?!
Saturday 24–Monday 26 October: Labour weekend – The art of driving
Sports scientists and drivers talk about what it takes to become a successful racing car driver: the strain on the body, the enormous concentration, and the support from car design and racing teams.
