Ian left the Museum Development Officer role in 2011 - now capably held by Sally August - to curate the 20th Century Dunedin galleries at Toitū Otago Settlers Museum.
When his work at Toitū was done, he wandered in the wilderness of Bangladesh, Spain and Portugal, before arriving home to pester Victoria Esson endlessly for work.
Victoria was finally worn down, and Ian is back with the National Services Te Paerangi team. Ian has 15 years experience in collection management and exhibition development - having worked in museums and galleries, large and small, throughout Aotearoa and Australia. Ian has Postgraduate Diploma in Museum Studies from Massey University, and a Masters in Anthropology from the University of Otago.
Ian is really enjoying being back working with the diverse and interesting people, and the collections they care for, in the galleries and museums of Aotearoa.
