New Zealand’s most famous beauty queen reflects on winning the crown 30 years ago in this illustrated talk celebrating Te Papa’s new Miss Universe: Lorraine Downes exhibition.
Go behind the scenes of the Miss Universe pageant with Lorraine, see the outfit she wore when she was crowned, and hear her perspective on the pressures on women to be perfect in today’s world – the topic that formed the basis of her book Real: The Truth about Fashion, Beauty and Image, written with Frances Jones (1998).
Your ticket includes a complimentary glass of bubbly.
About the exhibition
