For teachers

Thank you

Thank you to all of the teachers and students who took part in a Brian Brake education prorgamme. Over 1500 students from throughout New Zealand viewed the exhibition and we hope that they left inspired to become world class photographers!   We also thank our sponsors HP and Kodak who provided equipment for our Digital Photography workshops.

The teacher resources below will remain online so you can use them anytime to learn more about photography.

Photography teacher resource

These resources have been developed for teachers and students studying photography. They can be used as a post visit activity for the schools who came to visit Brian Brake: Lens on the World or as a tool for investigating Te Papa’s collection of Brian Brake’s work online.

Te Papa’s imaging team have created images for this resource that demonstrate how certain compositional elements contribute to good photography. We also show some of Brake’s works from Te Papa’s collection to demonstrate his use of these elements.
