Guide for educators planning a visit at the Orange | Karaka setting

Important information to help plan your education trip to Te Papa with Wellington at the Orange | Karaka setting.

At the Orange | Karaka setting, some programmes have been adjusted to allow for Covid-19 protocols. If you don’t feel comfortable bringing your class/es in, many of our programmes can be delivered virtually via Zoom directly to your classroom. Please email learning@tepapa.govt.nz to see if this will work for you. You can also self-guide.

Te Papa is following the advice of the New Zealand Government’s Covid-19 Protection Framework | Te Pou Tarāwaho Ārai Kowheori.

Education visits

At the Orange | Karaka setting we’ve made a few changes to keep you safe during your education programme. We need all members of your group, from Year 4 upwards, to wear a mask during your visit. Hand sanitiser is available throughout the museum. For any programmes with touch objects, including those with a digital component, our educators will sanitise before and after a class, and we will provide sanitising wipes to teachers to clean at your discretion during the session.

You no longer need to provide contact tracing for your group, or scan in with our QR code.

Please note, we are presently unable to deliver The Gallipoli Experience or Gallipoli Perspectives due to the small spaces within the exhibition and lack of ventilation. You are welcome to self-guide through this exhibition space, or we can deliver this to you via virtual explorer.

Self-guided education visits

You are welcome to self-guide at the Orange | Karaka setting. We need all members of your group, from Year 4 upwards, to wear a mask during your visit. Hand sanitiser is available throughout the museum.

You no longer need to provide contact tracing for your group, or scan in with our QR code.
