EMP Huakina 2019

Following the theme of the main MA2019 conference, the day will engage and explore Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its importance to the GLAM sector, and how EMPs can contribute to and impact museum practice.

  • When Fri 24 May – Sat 25 May 2019, 5.30pm–4.00pm
  • Where
    Victoria University Wellington
  • Cost $35

We hope the day will inspire further conversations throughout the EMP group, in our practices and our respective organisations. Further, it will be a safe space to korero about difficult topics.

Who is it for:

If you are in the early stages of your museum/cultural heritage sector career, the EMP (Emerging Museum Professionals) Huakina is for you. You might be a student, in the first few years of your career, or someone entering the sector after a career in another profession.

The Huakina provides an opportunity for early museum sector professionals to connect with others at the same stage of their careers, discuss issues relevant to their specific career stage and to bring their fresh perspectives and energy to some of the thornier topics relevant to the sector as a whole.
