Ten-minute talks, 7–8pm
Hear from artists and natural history experts in conversation with curators of Tēnei Papa Tīoi | This Swaying Earth.
Speakers: Exhibition artists Raewyn Atkinson, Joe Sheehan, Chris Charteris, and Lead Curator of Invertebrates Julia Kasper.

Cyanotype workshop with The Handmade Darkroom Collective, 7.30–10pm
Use one of the oldest photographic printing processes to create your own cyanotype print from a native plant.

Under the microscope
Kōrero: Kōrero with Wayne Barrar, 7:30–8pm
In Wayne Barrar: Mai i te Pūranga Kōata | From the Glass Archive, photographer Wayne Barrar delved into a ‘glass archive’ of silica skeleton fossils of diatoms and other micro-organisms to explore its microscopic wonders.
Barrar discusses his role as an artist at the intersection of nature and culture.

Workshop: Microscope and drawing, 8–10pm
See some of our native plant specimens in a whole new way – under a microscope! Make a drawing inspired by these mesmerising microreproductions.

Kōrero: Finding connection to Whenua, 8–9pm
Artists from the Kauae Raro Research Collective and Selina Ershadi discuss how their work engages with whenua as a site of knowledge, culture, and history.

Performance by Mara TK, 9:45–10:30pm
Celebrated Aotearoa artist Mara TK performs a collaborative soundscape experience in response to Tēnei Papa Tīoi | This Swaying Earth.
