Arohanui Strings Family Concert

All the family will enjoy this classical concert performed by the talented children of the Arohanui Strings orchestra. Featuring music by Vivaldi, Haydn, and Bach.

The Arohanui Strings orchestra is made up of children aged 6–17 years from two orchestras: Arohanui Strings – Sistema Hutt Valley, and the Stringendo Children's Orchestra.

About Arohanui Strings – Sistema Hutt Valley

The kaupapakaupapa programme of this orchestra is to provide an exciting opportunity for local children and youth to receive a quality music education, free of charge. Sistema programmes are based on the belief that all children deserve a chance to develop their full potential, regardless of economic circumstances.  

About the Stringendo Children’s Orchestra

This orchestra in central Wellington is led by Victoria University professor Donald Maurice, and focuses on music from Europe’s Baroque era (1700s–1800s). Participation is free.
