Ana, a disenchanted and underpaid soap opera actress, aspires to act in films. A prosperous ex-flame’s return from the United States highlights her own family’s poverty and propels her in a new direction. She agrees to direct a documentary, funded by Europeans, about prostitution in Cuba – and is also one of the main characters. As the production rolls on, the thin line between fiction and Ana’s real life becomes increasingly thin.
