Henna, or Mehndi, is an ornate traditional form of body art practiced in many different parts of the world, including India, South East Asia, and the Middle East.

Get your hands painted with henna at Te Papa. Using a 100% natural paste made from the ground leaves of the henna shrub, our two henna beauty specialists will draw a simple pattern of your choice onto your skin. The henna stain will last a couple of days.

No booking required. Watch a mesmerising Gond artist while you wait for your turn.
