Textiles author and collector John Gillow discusses these vibrant quilts created from pieces of worn saris and other fabrics. He focuses on kantha that depict life in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and are unique works of art.

Some textiles from his collection are available to purchase after the talk.

About John Gillow

John has one of the world’s largest collections of kantha quilts. He has written the catalogue for a major kantha exhibition at the Mingei International Museum, California, in 2017.
