Kids’ Kapa HakaKapa Haka Tamariki
See tamariki show their passion for kapa haka through waiata (songs), haka (dances), and more at Te Marae. Nau mai, haere mai – all welcome!

Fernlea School and Wainuiomata Primary School students perform whakaeke (entrance songs), hīmene (hymns), mōeatea (songs of sorrow), waiata ā-ringa (action songs), waiata poi, hakahaka dances, and mau rākau (martial arts). Toru Fetū Kindergarten and Te Papa’s own Tai Tamariki Kindergarten sing one song each too. The kapa haka finishes with both primary schools joining for a final hīmene.
11am–11.30am: Fernlea School
11.30am–12 noon: Wainuiomata Primary School
12 noon–12.30pm: Tai Tamariki Kindergarten and Toru Fetū Kindergarten
12.25pm–12.30pm: Final hīmene, Fernlea School and Wainuiomata Primary School

Mātaki i ngā tamariki i Te Marae e whakaari ana i tō rātou ngākau nui ki te kapa haka, mā te waiata, mā te haka, mā te aha atu. Nau mai, haere mai – whakatau mai!
Ka whakaeke, ka waiata hīmene, ka mōteatea, ka waiata poi, ka waiata ā-ringa, ka haka, ka mau rākau e ngā tauira o te Kura o Fernlea me te Kura Tuatahi o Wainuiomata. Ka takiwaiata hoki e te Māra Tamariki o Toru Fetū me te Māra Tai Tamariki ake o Te Papa. Ka hono tahi atu e ngā kura tuatahi e rua ka whakaoti atu ki te hīmene whakamutunga.
