Royal New Zealand Ballet Dance workshops

An exciting chance to dance with the Royal New Zealand Ballet. Learn some dance steps from Tāne and the Kiwi with one of the RNZB Dance Educators – especially for tamariki aged 5–10 years (no dance experience required).

These dance workshops for school students offer a special insight into ballet, introducing some basics such as foot and arm positions in a relaxed, fun environment.


Thu 14 Jul classes

  • 10.30am – 11.15am (aged 5–7)
  • 12.00pm – 12.45pm (aged 8–10)

Fri 15 Jul classes 

  • 10.30am – 11.15am (aged 5–7)
  • 12.00pm – 12.45pm (aged 8–10)

Classes are limited to 30 children.  Please make sure to book your place in the workshop.

Please note that for health and safety reasons these workshops are not suitable for pre-schoolers.

NB – Additional dance workshop sessions are available on the RNZB – Whānau Day, Saturday 16 July

Supervision and photographs
Kids must be accompanied by an adult for all activities.
Filming and photography by Te Papa may take place at this event. The material might be shared online or through social media.
Please let the event manager or a Te Papa host know if you or a child you are responsible for does not wish to be photographed or filmed.
