Join Gorch Pieken, from the Military History Museum in Dresden, for 45 minute talk where he’ll share his experiences addressing ‘difficult histories’ in his professional and academic background. A Q&A and refreshments will follow.

Michael Harcourt, former history teacher at Wellington High School, and recipient of a 2015 Fulbright Scholarship, will then lead a one hour workshop which aims to support you in developing strategies and techniques to explore ‘difficult histories’ at work and in the classroom.

Gorch Pieken is the Academic Director, and Director of Exhibitions, Collections, and Research at the Military History Museum in Dresden. He will be one of the keynote speakers at the Myriad Faces of War Symposium being held at Te Papa 25-28 Apr.
