Te Papa Asian Aotearoa Collection Tour

As part of the Asian Aotearoa Arts Hui 2023, Dr Grace Gassin, Te Papa’s Curator Asian New Zealand Histories, will introduce some of the museum’s objects that tell the stories of early migrant-settlers and contemporary Asian Tauiwi communities in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Dr Grace Gassin, Te Papa’s Curator Asian New Zealand Histories, will introduce some of the museum’s objects on display and back of house that tell the stories of early migrant-settlers and contemporary Asian Tauiwi communities in Aotearoa New Zealand.

This includes some of the antiracist objects Te Papa has collected since the Covid-19 pandemic began, and taonga from Chinese, Indian, Filipino, and Vietnamese communities. Each session will conclude with a Q&A tea break with Grace.

All are welcome, however, this event aims to provide a space which empowers marginalised voices. Please take this into consideration when signing up.
